The Handyaid was originally designed and patented in Reading, Vermont in 1941. After recognizing it’s usefulness and potential, my parents purchased the company in 1972 and managed it for over 40 years. The patented design has remained unchanged since 1941, a testament to how innovative and purposeful the original design was. The material and color were changed in 2014, no longer made of rubber, but a stronger plastic material to improve the gripping action. Bright yellow makes it stand out in your kitchen drawer, easier to spot for a quick use! Changing the material also allowed it to remain *MADE IN THE USA*, manufactured for years in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

The Handyaid is distributed across the world in country/general stores, boutiques, mail order and online catalogs, but mostly by word of mouth from enthusiastic customers. I’m hopeful to continue my parent’s long-standing dedication to the product and it’s customers. My goal is to get a HANDYAID in every home across the world. Help me make that happen. Nurses’ Note:

As a Registered Nurse (Operating Rooms for over 35 years), I have witnessed the simple, inexpensive way the HANDYAID can assist the hand of the elderly population. Arthritis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Parkinson’s, and strokes can weaken the hands. Elderly customers write to me and say that they can get a better grip on many objects by using a HANDYAID. Is there someone in your life that you think a HANDYAID may help their grip? Please order one (or two, one for each hand) as a gift. It may be the helping hand they desperately need! I use one in my O.R. everyday to loosen tight bed rail holders…works every time!!
